Living memory

Building community for over a century

The Sociedad Italiana de Socorros Mutuos was founded in 1889 and was one of Miramar's first institutions. Its spirit of solidarity continues to live on through every chapter of the Círculo.

After World War II, a new wave of Italian immigration renewed the community's social and cultural life. In 2005, the two stories came together to form the institution we know today.

  1. 1889The Sociedad Italiana de Socorros Mutuos is founded.
  2. 1959The Círculo Italiano de Miramar is formed.
  3. 2005The institutions merge as Joven Italia.
  4. 2010Giuseppe Verdi Hall opens.
  5. TodayThe story continues with new generations.
